    — create a promise: e.g. weekly/daily tips
  • write down target audience
    • specific vs general audiences
    • hashtags and keywords known to be popular with audience: technical, messagining, “I have a great tip for [insert target audience]

Channels

  • return to your promise: e.g. your weekly tip, etc.

Big Three

Three Steps

To begin with email and social media marketing, there are 3 steps you should take:

  • Define your content goal: The inbound marketing method can help with that. According to this method, there are 3 types of goals: attract, engage or delight your audience.
  • Choose your channel: After you decided on which goal you want your content to achieve, it’s time to decide what channel (e.g. twitter, Instagram, email) is best to distribute your message. For this, it’s important to keep your content goal, target audience, and intent in mind.
  • Customize your message: every channel, target audience and goal needs a different message to optimize.

Start small, experiment, use helpful tools and make it fun!

    • Generate engagement: e.g. Ask a question
  • Focus
    • help to convince recipients to read the email
  • Consistency
    • helps to manage expectations and improve open rates

Focus on Efficiency and Avoid Getting Overwhelmed

  • Focus on a specific tool with the majority of your audience: e.g. Instagram
  • Don’t adopt a new tool because it is trendy. Adopt slowly, learn the tool
  • Efficent process: 4 topics 12 posts

10-4-1 RULE

  • 10 posts – interesting content on other sites – target based, refer to source
  • 4 posts – content related to your business
  • 1 posts – Conversation related post: e.g. generate customers (sign up to download), discount codes

A good time frame can be 15 posts over a week (approx. 2 a day)

Tailoring

Modify your post based on the platform and the audience you are targeting.

  • Does it resonate with the audience: e.g. LinkedIn is not the same audience as Instagram

Authenicity

What is your passion? Share it to show your authentic self.

  • Share negative responses and a positive response as a Muslim

  • Editorial calendar – can be a spreadsheet to plan ahead
